Application Details:
The application window for ETH Zurich Excellence Masters Scholarships 2024-2025 opens from November 1 to November 30, 2024. Interested candidates can apply through the eApply platform, which is also accessible to ETH Bachelor students pursuing a consecutive Master's program.
Eligibility Criteria:
To qualify for ESOP, applicants must demonstrate exceptional academic performance, ranking within the top 10% of their Bachelor's degree program (equivalent to grade A). Additionally, candidates should ensure accessibility via the provided contact details, as the selection process may include phone or video conference interviews in February. Those already enrolled in a Master's program at ETH Zurich or holding a Master's degree are ineligible for ESOP.
Application Process:
Prospective scholars are required to submit a pre-proposal for their Master's thesis along with the standard documents for Master admission. The pre-proposal should adhere to established scientific citation practices and be free from plagiarism or misinformation. Applicants without reference requirements from their study program must nominate two professors to provide reference letters upon request.
Scholarship Benefits:
The Excellence Scholarship/ESOP offers a generous stipend of CHF 12,000 per semester to cover living and study expenses, in addition to a full tuition fee waiver. The scholarship is awarded for the regular duration of the Master’s program (three or four semesters), including the tuition fee waiver. Eligible ETH Bachelor students may commence ESOP with a leave of absence.
Selection and Notification:
Approximately 60 ESOP scholarships will be awarded for the academic year 2024/25. Applications will be rigorously evaluated by the Admissions Committees of respective Master’s programs, with final decisions made by the Rector of ETH Zurich. The exact number of scholarships awarded depends on the availability of funds, with notifications communicated by the end of March.
