Brief Description: Carleton University extends prestigious scholarships to exceptional incoming undergraduate students with an admission average of 90% or higher. The available scholarships include the Chancellor’s Scholarship, Richard Lewar Entrance Scholarship, Carleton University Scholarship of Excellence, Carleton University SHAD Scholarship, Riordon Scholarship, and Collins Prestige Scholarship.

Scholarship Value/Inclusions:

  • Chancellor’s Scholarships: $30,000 ($7,500 x 4 years).
  • Richard Lewar Entrance Scholarships: $21,500 ($6,500 in the first year and $5,000 in second, third, and fourth year)
  • Carleton University Scholarships of Excellence: $20,000 ($5,000 x 4 years)
  • Carleton University SHAD Scholarships: $20,000 ($5,000 x 4 years)
  • Riordon Scholarship: Full tuition in the first, second, third, and fourth year, capped at the Canadian domestic full tuition fee amount.
  • Collins Prestige Scholarship: Full tuition in the first, second, third, and fourth year, capped at the Canadian domestic full tuition fee amount.

Scholarships are renewable with an annual GPA of 10.0.

Eligibility: Consideration for a prestige scholarship is given to those entering Carleton directly from high school or CEGEP. Students with prior attendance at a post-secondary educational institution (college or university) are ineligible for these awards. To qualify for any prestige scholarship, a minimum admission average of 90 percent is required. The selection committee also evaluates involvement in community or secondary school extracurricular activities.
