For Ph.D. Degree Program:
- Applicants should possess a Master's, M.Phil, or a comparable degree, equating to a minimum of 18 years of formal education from an accredited university.
- Work experience in teaching, research, or the public sector in Pakistan is highly desirable.
Academic Disciplines and GRE Requirements:
- All academic disciplines are eligible, except clinical medicine.
- The Graduate Record Examination (GRE General) is mandatory for all applicants.
- A minimum score of 145 is required on each section of the GRE examination, with a higher score on the section most applicable to the candidate's field of study.
English Proficiency:
- Applicants must demonstrate a high level of fluency in spoken and written English.
- The Duolingo Test of English is required from all shortlisted candidates.
Selection and Obligations:
- Successful candidates sign a contract with USEFP and, for Ph.D. candidates, a bond with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) that commits them to return to Pakistan after completing their U.S. program and serve the country for a period equivalent to the scholarship program's length.
Application Process:
- Applications are accepted annually from November, with a deadline around February.
- The application review and interview process continue until August, and results are announced in mid-September.
- After selection, the university submission and placement process extend until February, and visa interviews occur until June.
- Departure to the U.S. begins in July, depending on the universities' reporting dates.
Ineligibility:
- Individuals with dual U.S./Pakistan nationality or those with immediate family members holding U.S. citizenship or permanent residency.
- Employees/contractors of Fulbright, the U.S. Department of State, or USAID, along with their spouses, children, siblings, dependents, and parents.
- Individuals who have already received a Fulbright award for any degree program.
- People currently studying in the U.S. or on a work/residence/student visa in any country.

- Scanned transcripts with an explanation of the grading scale.
Note: HEC-attested documents are preferable, but documents attested by the issuing authority are acceptable.
