ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP

Since 1976, the Inlaks Shivdasani Scholarships have empowered over 480 Indian students to pursue full-time Masters, MPhil, or Doctoral programs at top-rated institutions in the USA, UK, and Europe. The scholarship, amounting to up to USD 100,000, covers program tuition, living expenses, healthcare, and one-way airfare.

The Foundation collaborates with renowned institutions like Imperial College, London, Royal College of Art (RCA), London, University of Cambridge (Cambridge Trust), Sciences Po, Paris, King’s College London, and Hertie School, Berlin. However, certain courses are excluded, including Business and Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, Fashion Design, Film and Film Animation, Hospitality and Tourism, Indian Studies without Contemporary Relevance, Management Studies (MBA), Medicine, Dentistry, Music, and Public Health.

TERMS OF THE SCHOLARSHIP

The maximum funding is USD 100,000. Applicants must show evidence if additional costs exceed this amount. Joint scholarships with partner institutions may surpass this limit. Acceptance of other awards, teaching assistantships, and part-time jobs is allowed, but additional funding sources must be reported.

Candidates' proposed courses should not necessitate field trips to India during the study tenure, except for collaborations covering PhD students in specific fields at King’s College London. Failure to commence the scholarship within nine months of the award results in forfeiture.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  1. Indian passport holders, resident in India, born on or after 1st January 1994, with a degree from a recognized Indian university.
  2. Those with an overseas undergraduate degree must have resided, worked, or studied in India for at least two years post-undergraduation.
  3. Minimum academic grades:
    • Social Sciences, Humanities, Law, Fine Arts, Architecture, etc.: 65%, CGPA 6.8/10, or GPA 2.6/4.
    • Mathematics, Sciences, Environment, etc.: 70%, CGPA 7.2/10, or GPA 2.8/4.
  4. Prior admission to the chosen institution and course is mandatory.
  5. English language certification is required if conditional in the offer letter.
  6. Deferred admission requires a valid offer for the academic year 2024-25.
  7. Candidates with a postgraduate qualification from abroad are ineligible.
  8. Candidates already studying postgraduate education abroad are not eligible.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Read instructions carefully, gather documents, and access them on the website.
  2. Application deadline: 12:00 pm, 22nd March 2024.
  3. One-sitting online application; cannot be saved.
  4. Only one submission allowed; incomplete applications rejected.
  5. Ensure good internet connectivity; verify email during form filling.
  6. Application form has 7 sections with mandatory fields.
  7. Keep required documents in PDF format for upload.
  8. Mandatory documents include Passport, Resume, Photo, Admission/Offer letter, Fee Statement, Proof of additional funding, Degree certificates, and relevant portfolios.
  9. Optional documents include TOEFL/IELTS/GRE scores, academic distinctions, extracurricular attainments.
  10. Photograph in JPG/PNG format; documents in PDF format.
  11. Provide details of all completed and ongoing academic qualifications.
  12. Incorrect fee and funding information results in disqualification.
  13. Living allowance is auto-calculated; total support cannot exceed USD 100,000.

REFERENCES

  1. Referees receive an email link valid for 7 days.
  2. For applications on 22nd March 2024, the link is valid till 29th March 2024.
  3. Reference letter on a letterhead; 2 academic referees for students, 1 professional referee for working individuals.
  4. In case of issues, referees can send letters directly to applications@inlaksfoundation.org as a PDF file, without cc/bcc to the candidate.

SUBMISSION AND SELECTION PROCEDURE

  • Confirmation of submission sent to verified email.
  • In case of submission errors, email techsupport@inlaksfoundation.org.
  • Selection involves three stages: review of eligible applications, online preliminary interviews, and final in-person interviews.
  • Unsuccessful applicants will not receive communication by 19th April 2024.
  • Individual queries/feedback will not be addressed due to the volume of inquiries
